Online learning + intensive practical training
You’ll spend five full days training hands-on at NE Academy, learning professional makeup techniques, working on models and developing your confidence under the guidance of an experienced makeup artist.
Alongside your practical training, you’ll have access to our online learning platform, giving you additional theory, business training and makeup demonstrations that you can refer back to throughout your learning journey.

You may see makeup courses advertised as a single day. Ours is built differently. Your course is five full days in the academy – and it doesn’t stop there.
Alongside your practical training, you’ll have access to our online learning platform, giving you additional theory, business education and makeup demonstrations. We’ve designed the online element to support your practical training, not overwhelm you.
The core theory and business learning can be completed in around two days, giving you a good foundation before or alongside your practical training. You’ll then have access to 12 makeup demonstrations which you can watch when you’re ready.
Think of it as your online training library – a resource you can return to when you want to refresh your knowledge, revisit a technique or watch a demonstration again.
Your online learning
We don’t see online learning as a replacement for being in the academy. The practical training is at the heart of this course. The online platform simply gives you another way to learn and, importantly, somewhere to return to when you want to refresh your knowledge.
You can work through the core learning in around two days, then use the demonstrations and resources at your own pace. You don’t need to watch everything at once. You don’t need to memorise it all before you arrive. It’s there to support your learning and give you something you can refer back to throughout your development.
We’ve taken years of professional experience and condensed it into one resource.

Watch them when you’re ready. Practise the techniques. Come back to them later. Use them as a reference as your skills develop.
Five days of hands-on training
We believe makeup artistry needs to be learnt hands-on. That’s why the centre of our course is five full days of practical training at NE Academy.
You’ll watch professional demonstrations, recreate the looks yourself, work on models and receive guidance and feedback throughout the week.
Because makeup is a practical skill, having the opportunity to physically pick up your brushes, work on different faces and practise techniques is an important part of becoming confident in your application.

There are many different ways to learn makeup, and we know that shorter courses can be a great starting point for aspiring makeup artists. Our approach is simply to give you more time to practise in a professional training environment.
After 16 years in the industry, we know that learning makeup isn’t just about watching someone apply it. It’s about getting your brushes in your hands. It’s about working on different faces. It’s about asking questions. It’s about receiving feedback. And it’s about having the opportunity to practise a technique more than once.
We didn’t want to try to fit that experience into a single day. Five practical days give you more time to develop your technique, build confidence and experience different makeup styles.
We’re not saying our way is the only way. We’re saying this is the way we’ve chosen to teach.

Built from 16 years of industry experience
Before establishing NE Academy, I trained as a makeup artist in London for two months and have since spent 16 years working within the makeup industry. That experience has shaped the way we teach.
Our course isn’t just about creating beautiful makeup. It’s about understanding why you’re doing something, how to work with different clients and skin types, how to conduct yourself professionally and what it takes to begin building a makeup business.
We’ve taken the knowledge and experience gained over the years and built it into the way we train.

No. The course is suitable for beginners as well as self-taught makeup artists who want professional guidance and practical experience.
The core theory and business learning can be completed in around two days. Your 12 makeup demonstrations can then be watched and revisited in your own time.
The online training is designed to support your practical learning. You don’t need to treat it as a huge amount of homework. The demonstrations are there as a resource you can return to when you’re ready.
No. With the course-only option you can bring your own kit or use the academy studio kit. If you use the studio kit, you’ll need to bring your own brushes. Alternatively, choose the course + kit option, which includes a professional makeup kit.
You’ll be asked to bring a model where possible. If you’re unable to provide one, we’ll check our model list and help where we can.
Yes. The course is ABT accredited and insurable.
Training begins at 9am, with demonstrations from 9:30am and practical model work from 1pm.
